Ok, the unit is installed. Initially the touch screen was not working. I disconnected the Hummer Battery for a few minutes and then reconnected. Now the touch screen works fine. I am getting things set up and will do a complete video review once I am finished.

Ok, The Dongle installation is not going easily. Here are the instructions it came with. They say I will be using Android Auto which is what I want.

I already have the Android Auto App on my phone and it is in USB Debugging Mode.

I used the included 8GB Micro SD Card and installed the Auto Play APK.

I started the Auto Play App and this came up.

Then I plugged in the Dongle and this came up. There is no mention of this in the instructions.... :(

I am very familiar with the CarLife app. It is a terrible app that attempts to do what Android Auto does. This dongle is supposed to work with Android Auto. Just to see what would happen I downloaded the Car Life App into my phone and got it to be recognized by the head unit. Car Life is a terrible App and is not a replacement fort Android Auto.

This dongle is advertised as Android Auto and the instructions say Android Auto.

Please tell me how I do I get Android Auto working with this head unit?

Thank you Jammy. The new APK works and I get connected with Android Auto. When I am using Android Auto I cannot play my Radio.. Are Audio functions from the Pumpkin Unit Disabled when using Android Auto?

I also have another question. How do I make the radio turn off and on without the Quick Boot. When I initially installed the radio when I turned it on I saw the Pumpkin Logo. Then I added my Hummer logo and the radio restarted, I saw the Pumpkin Logo, Then the Hummer Logo and the radio started.
I say this because I had an SD card freeze up and turning it off and on with Quick Boot does nothing because the radio never 100% shuts off. . And the reset button only turns the radio off and on just the same as using the power button with Quick Boot... Normally on an Android device if you hold the Power Button an option will come up to do a reset. It completely powers down the Android device and when you press power it takes some time to start up, but you do not lose any of your settings. Is there a way to do this? What I did was go into Factory settings and changed nothing but pressed Apply. The radio completely restarted with the Pumpkin Logo, The Hummer Logo, the radio started and my SD Card was no longer locked up. If there is no way to do this, then it should be added that if you hold down the power button a menu comes up asking if you want to completely shut down.

This post will tell you how to use 64GB Class 10 MicroSD SDXC Cards in your Head Unit.

Almost All Class 4 and Class 6 Micro SD cards should work in your head unit. Class 4 only goes up to 32GB Class 6 goes up to 64GB but they are hard to find and double the price of the newest, fastest Class 10 64GB Micro SD Cards. Class 10 cards are formatted in exFat which the Pumkin Head unit will not like.. What you need to do is reformat the Class 10 card to Fat 32 with an allocation unit size of 512. Then when you put it in the Pumpkin head unit you can get it to work. The following are the completer instructions and what I used.

I bought this 64GB Class 10 MicroSD SDXC on Amazon:

I had also bought this inexpensive USB 3.0 SD Card Reader from Amazon:

I did this on a Windows 7 Computer. Your first problem is that Windows will not convert an exFAT Micro SD Card into Fat 32. So you need a simple little program that does it. It is so small it does not even need to install. You just download it and start it. Here is the location of the download:

http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm

Now you have everything you need.
First thing to remember is that these High Speed Class 10 cards can be touchy. So do not just pull them out without ejecting them first.

1. Plug the MicroSD Card into your reader and plug the reader into the computer. Do not open the MicroSD Card to look at it.
2. Go into My Computer and look at the list on the left and see if you see the MicroSD Card. Mine showed up as Drive F.
3. Start guiformat.exe It should look like this:

FAT32.png
FAT32.png (19.08 KiB) Viewed 1172 times

4. Once it starts make sure the drive letter at the top matches the drive letter of the MicroSD Card.
5. Then set allocation unit size to 512.
6. Make sure Quick Format is checked.
7. Click start and wait until the Close button lights back up. Then press close.

Now before you unplug the reader and card you must eject them.
8.Go to the lower right corner of your screen. there should be a small white arrow to the left of the date and time. Click on it to see the hidden icons.
Here is what you are looking for:

You want the one pictured in the top left.
9. Click on it and it will ask what item you want to eject. You should see you MicroSD Card there. Click on it.
10. A message will come up saying you can safely remove the MicroSD Card.
11. Now go to your car and turn on your Pumpkin Head Unit.
12. Insert the MicroSD Card
13. At the top of the screen a small white picture of the SD Card should show up.
14. Put you finger on that image and drag your finger down and you will see the MicroSD Card Status
15. It will probably say your SD Card is Damaged and needs to be formatted. Agree and format it.
16. when done go back to the white icon at the top and drag it down again. It should now say your SD Card is Ready for USE. And under that you will see EJECT.. choose eject and you can now safely remove the MicroSD Card.
17. Take the MicroSD Card back to your computer and hook it up to the computer with the reader.
18. Open the MicroSD Card and you will see one file inside that the Pumpkin Head unit put there. Do not remove it or the MicroSD Card will not work in the Pumpkin Head Unit. This is the file:

19. Now you can put your Music and Video Files onto the MicroSD Card.
20. When you are done EJECT the MicroSD Card from your computer and put it in the Pumpkin Head Unit and it will work perfectly.
Always remember to eject the MicroSD Card every time you want to remove it

Hi, :) thank you very much for telling me so many things.
About the fast boot issue, you can disable it by entering settings - car settings page .

the option " auto sleep " means always fast boot.
Other times options mean within that times ,you can fast boot the unit.
In fact , normally you used an thin stick to click the reset button in the reset hole will fully disconnect the power and fully reboot the unit again .

I will try the settings. As far as the thin stick. I tried that many times and it is the same as Fast Boot.

Can you answer this one?

Today I added Auto Telemetry..

It was a very easy installation.

I purchased this Bluetooth OBD2 unit from Amazon:

I also purchased this right angle extension cable from Amazon. It allowed me to hide the unit up inside the dash . The OBD2 unit if plugged directly into the OBD2 port would have stuck out to far. My legs would hit it as well it would be ugly. With this cable you see nothing.

Once it was plugged in I went into Bluetooth on the Pumpkin Head Unitand added it. It was found and added immediately.
Then I went to the Torque App which comes Pre-Loaded on the Pumpkin Head Unit.
I started Torque and it found my truck. The set up process on Torque is pretty straight forward.
I also opted to pay $4.95 and download Torque Pro. It has many more features and is well worth the price.

The fast boot settings do not disable Fast Boot. It just lets you change the amount of time the head unit stays on before entering Sleep Mode / Fast Boot.

I did discover that pushing the reset button restarts the radio in Fast Boot just the same as using the Power Button.
A long depress of the reset button will do a Hard Reset. You hold the reset button in until the led lights on the left side of the screen go off and on.
The Hard Reset will then happen.

There should be an option in settings to do a Hard reset. That keeps from any problems with the mechanical reset button. Through the years I saw many Car Audio customers break the reset buttons jamming things into them.
