Pumpkin 10.1inch 7.1 Double Din Warning Triangle error on Braking

Hi,

I purchased and installed in my 2006 Dodge Charger SE, a Pumpkin 10.1 Inch Android 7.1.2 Stereo off Amazon (order 111-7299203-8131401) along with the Pumpkin License plate backup camera (Amazon Order 111-3095051-1717056). It was installed with the Metra dash kit and harness. Stereo install looks and works great, no issues with that installation. Hooked up illumination wire to parking lights so screen dims with light on perfect. Then installed reverse cam red wire at camera (both red to cam and red wire on RCA cable) to white/green stripe wire (taillight reverse light,12v when in reverse only). Installed radio side RCA red wire to Reverse -In wire at radio harness. Reverse camera works perfect, when in reverse camera comes on and goes off in any other gear. I have an issue with the screen and get a Warning Triangle error when I am in any gear except reverse and apply the brakes. I looked over the forum and found similar issues where a 10K ohm resister is added to ground at radio to reverse-in wire. I also tried this but it was no help. Unplug RCA cable at radio and cut red wire and issue goes away. Is there an new patch or any other help you can provide?

Hi,
there should be something wrong with the connection of the reverse-in wire . I suggest
1. disconnect the 10K resistance .
2. you connect the red wire on the rca cable to another 12V positive pole when you put the car in reverse .You can show me some pictures about this point .If you have a mutimeter , you can check whether this wire get any power and how much when you put the car in any gear except for the reverse .
More query , could you mind showing an video ? It will be exactly helpful to find the cause .

OK I will Post video with multimeter volt readings this weekend. I am getting the error when brakes are applied, so I will post those readings too.

OK, I did some voltage check on the red wire on the RCA cable coming from the rear camera. No volts static, .32 volts when brake applied. 9 volts when reverse gear selected. I tried to upload video but get an error message

I checked voltages and tried to upload the video but get an error "Invalid file extension: RCA Cable voltage.mp4"
readings are taken at radio end of RCA cable red power wire hooked up to reverse light power wire at rear of car (white with green stripe). Camera ground is at ground terminal of battery in trunk. Voltages are 0 volts when in park and no brakes. When brakes are applied I get .3 volts. When reverse is selected I get 9.5 volts. This is with engine not running, same conditions as when I would get error.

I can not open anything on the radio when I have the error screen when braking. The touchscreen is inoperative with the black screen and Triangle warning. Unit is still functioning as I can hear the radio playing in the background.
