new deck sd slot dead

i just got the universal single din deck and was pretty excited, spent all weekend getting it properly installed and was pretty thrilled, backup camera .. ect ...all works and i was happy..
except when i went out and bought sd cards
my sd card slot will not read and only show up as corrupt
the gps slot works fine and i know its not the cards
anything i can try or do i have to rma deck already...
its not even been a week!!
