balance / fader setting keeps moving on its own on AS1272B

Postby JesseT » Tue Aug 07, 2018 1:36 pm

I have a AS1272B Audi a4 specific model I purchased in december 2017. Basicly I'm quite happy with it, but with a unit this complicated and extensive there are bound to be a few issues. There is one issue I can not create a workaround for that has bugged me from the start, and it's the amplifier fader/balance setting...
If I set it to center (=all), the sound is nicely spread among all speakers and I can move it a few clicks to my liking. However after a day or two I can hear that the setting has moved. If I go and check it, it shows to be where I left it. However, if I re-select the same location, I can hear tha it bacame correct again. This can be done by clicking one click front and one back and it has fixed itself for a day or two again.

Are there any known reasons for this? Is this a known bug, or something only on my unit?

I purchased it on ebay as item #282725733921 and my buyer id is "jesse_tuominen".

Hi,
you can try to enter settings- factory settings - others - power status option and choose remember last status. Then click apply and exit button.

I checked this, and it is currently "Memory the status of last". From your text I assume this is correct, even if on the image "on" state is displayed.
I think this issue has been from the beginning.

This case is still valid...

It's like clockwork. Every two-three days the actual balance is suddenly on full right, but the equalizer app is showing it to be still centered.
Can you please describe to me how the system is designed. Is the central unit talking to a separate audio IC to update setting, but the last commanded settings are still stored locally at the android and not read back? How are the settings stored? Is the memory rely8ing on the constant 12V, or using EEPROM, or using separate backup voltage, supercap, memory_battery, ... ?

Anything please? There is supposed to be a warranty for these things, right?
