Firstly a big thank you to your people for sending a replacement dongle so quickly. I have tried the new HSDPA dongle but I still cannot get internet access through the radio. These are the steps I've taken:
1. I inserted my SIM card into the dongle and connected it to my Windows PC as shown in your Youtube video. Connection was made and a PING test was successful. I was also able to send and receive SMS/text messages through the dongle (FIG 1a & 1b)
2. I connected the HSDPA dongle to the radio USB socket and within a minute or so the cellular network signal was visible on the radio screen but using Google Maps as a test application, no internet connection was made (see FIG 2a). Trying the dongle in either of the USB sockets made no difference
3. I reset the radio and this time the cellular network signal symbol showed an exclamation mark (Fig 2b)- still no internet connection.
4. I unplugged the HSDPA dongle and connected the radio to my smartphone's hotspot (tethered) and connection to the Google Maps server was successful (FIG 3)
So both HSDPA dongles work with a Windows PC but not the radio - this does indicate a problem with the radio's settings or firmware.
I am very pleased with my Pumpkin in all other respects and I am happy to help you solve this problem - testing new firmware; running test scripts; collecting error logs or in any other way. I understand that writing new firmware takes time but I am happy to wait for a fix.
