Sorry about this.
Actually even the android 5.1 system of the head unit can hardly perform as well as the smartphone due to the CPU and other parts limitation.
If you want to use the android 5.1 unit, you can contact the amazon seller or amazon platform to return and get a new android 5.1 unit exchange.

I purchased this item under the pretence it would be upgradable as it states in the Amazon advertisement. I've paid over £300 for an item that is not upgradable and I cannot use the tomtom sat nav due to this. I will be contacting amazon for a refund if this is not possible.

Sorry for the late reply due to the weekend.
About the android 5.1 lollipop, sorry that the android 4.4 unit could not be updated to android 5.1 cause some inside limitation.
We have tested the android 5.1 firmware on android 4.4 unit and it's not available.
If you want to use the firmware to solve some small issues, you can first do a factory data reset.
Or we can send you the latest firmware for your unit RQ0364, hope your understanding.

Hi if possible can I have the updated version for my system. I 'm having a few problems with installing tomtom and a few other things i'd like to change.
I have noticed this is now shipped with 5.1 as standard.
