Regarding your issue, could you please tell us if the screen brightness and the button light worked before?
You can go to the factory settings(126) to set the "key light" to be selected. Then the button light will turn on when the unit to be powered on.
If you want the screen brightness become a little darkness only when you turn on the headlights, you can modify the orange illumination wire and connect it directly to your headlight positive pole.
