This works great for me, has resolved the poor quality on the receivers end. The Microphone comes with a 4 metre lead.

Looking at a different make of external microphone that is designed for car use and does have a 4 meter cable.

If this is considered to be the problem please advise correct wiring details to extend the lenght.

I placed a piece of electrical tape over the internal micro and this made it worst. It would appear that the external microphone, cable or connection are not working.
