Hi,

Should the stereo work normally (plug in and play) if it has the cable with the can bus decoder box instead of having to cut cables and attach them to the cigar lighter?

As I'd rather sort it out this way instead of cutting cables.

Would doing this help solve the problem of the stereo not powering down when the ignition is off also or would this only fix the backlighting problem?
