I have tried re-applying the firmware update and it has completed successfully.

I don't know yet if the random rebooting is resolved as I haven't driven the car much since applying the update. Will update again once I've had some time in the car...

Per the photo I posted, the build number is:

I'm not sure if it actually applied following the reset or if it's still on the old version. What should the version number should it be? (that's why I posted the photo link in my most above...)

I applied the firmware update at your recommendation to resolve the constant rebooting... Are you saying that I should not have applied the firmware update?

Also, if i need to replace the Android board, how do I source one of those? (I'm sure I'm capable of fitting it)

Hmmmm, the head unit finally noticed that the update image file was in the root of the SD card, rather than selecting update system in the setup app. I chose to go ahead with the upgrade. The progress bar got to a out half way and then stopped moving at all. I kept the car turned on for about 2 hour...
