Pumpkin Auto KD-C0223 power issue

Hi there,

I have had this head unit for around 3 years now and it is a fantastic piece of kit. I have recommended it to many friends as well.

My problem started today when I tried to connect an amp and subwoofer to the unit for the first time. I connected everything and the unit was working fine. I then realised I had to connect the 'remote' wire from the amp to the head unit.

First I incorrectly connected the wire to the 'KEY1' wire. Then I realised and connected it to the 'Auto antenna control' wire.

The problem is now the head unit will not power on. If I hold the power button nothing happens. If I hold the reset and power buttons it will boot to the recovery menu. I tried flashing the latest firmware, which installed, but when the unit is supposed to reboot it just turns off.

Do you have any ideas as to why the unit will not power on other than in recovery mode?

What and where the latest firmware you installed?
Which option of the recovery page did you choose?

Hi I bought the unit from Amazon on the 11th March 2015 from seller Autopumpkin. My order number is: 203-9440947-0869945

The firmware I installed was posted on this forum in response to someone with the same unit ID as me (KD-CO223) (forum page link: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1315&p=5661&hilit=C0223#p5661). On the recovery menu I chose 'update system/new image from SD card.

The unit stopped working before I updated the firmware though, I thought that might fix the problem.

Hi,

I tried the updarte but it's the same as before, as soon as the update finishes the screen goes black and the unit powers off. If I enter recovery mode and select reboot, the same thing happens screen goes black and it turns off.

I don't think this is a firmware issue, it did this before I updated the firmware the first time.

The problems started after I tried to connect a subwoofer to the unit. Could the issue be related to wiring?

I have autoradio gps KD-C0223, I updated the radio to the latest version

When the autoradio has started, I do not recognize the wifi.
Settings-wifi- I'll turn it on, take a few seconds trying to turn on the Wi-Fi and go back to off.

In advanced settings there is no Mac 00: 00: 00: 00: 00 (also no number)

Hello Jammy,

Can you please post a working link to the latest firmware download for model KD-C0223? The download links in this thread no longer work.

I have a KD-C0223 unit that is about 2 years old, and now the top and bottom of the touchscreen are unresponsive/do not work. Has been fine until my car battery died a month ago, and now the top and bottom of the screen does not respond to touch.
