Solution 1:
We post a solution with installing a new weather app from the factory to solve it, but cause the Yahoo API has issue again, after installing the new weather app, the problem is still unsolved. So we feedback it to the factory and engineer, we finally got the latest firmware and tested it with no problem. You can install our latest firmware, then the weather app will be deleted and replaced by a small radio frequency widget.
First you just need to download the firmware through your browser, normally it is just a single file with name “update.img”, just copy the file into an empty (micro)SD card, make sure the file is in root of the card.(ie, when you open the card, the file is directly located there), or you can copy the file into an empty USB stick.
Method 1:
Please turn on the HU to main menu, insert the (micro)SD card into the GPS slot of the HU or plug the USB stick into the USB cable, the HU will read it and automatically pop up an mini window of finding new firmware for updating, just click “Install” and wait, the HU will finish the process by itself.

If there is no mini window pops up, please go to setting--about machine to click system update option manually, then the mini window will show.
Method 2:
If the unit does not recognize the firmware from micro SD card or the USB stick when you turn on the unit normally, you can try to enter the recovery menu to install the firmware.
Please insert the sd card with the firmware file into the GPS slot, please first hold the power button and press the RST hole at the same time, keep for about 3-5 seconds, then you will enter the recovery menu.Short press the power button to choose the recovery option, and long press the power button to enter the "update system/mcu image from sd card and clear all", wait for about 2 minutes, when you find the screen go to black, please put out the sd card from the GPS slot, then short press the RST hole, the unit will go to the main page on the unit.And we make a simple tutorial video for your reference, hope some help.
Please notice, if your unit is full touch screen without power button, please use a sharp thin sticker to press and hold the RST button for around 3-5 seconds, release the RST button, then it will goes into a English version recovery menu.
Warning:
Please DO NOT disconnect power or do other operation to the radio while updating, or the HU will be damaged. Any artificial damage to the HU will void the warranty.
In case you may use the wrong firmware due to different item with different firmware, the firmware link will not be public here directly, please send us your order number and purchasing link from us, we will reply to your email address with the proper firmware. Or you can direct email above order information to "support@autopumpkin.com", any email will be replied within 24 hours expect for Saturday and Sunday due to off work.
Solution 2:
We got a shared solution from one of our clients, you just need to download the "Apex Launcher"a normal Android App from playstore, or you can click . It does not need root or anything and replaces the original Homescreen by the Apex Homescreen. If you remove the app everything is like before.
