SD Card slot not functioning on CN01-02306B-08A

Postby kspann » Wed Dec 06, 2017 3:20 pm

I am unable to use the micro SD card slot in any fashion on my unit. I initially purchased a 64G SanDisk micro SD and when inserted into the slot, nothing happens. Not even an icon showing up on the task bar. After about 5 minutes, an SD card icon shows up stating that it is not supported and needs to be formatted (see attachments). When I attempt to format it after the 5 minute wait for the icon to show up, it errors out with "Command '8 Volume partition Disk:179,32 public' failed with a '400 8 Command failed'" (see picture). These numbers keep changing every time I try to do this. I formatted the 64G SanDisk micro SD Fat32 on a Mac with no change in the result. I formatted it Fat32 on a PC with no change. I used an LG G5 and it found the card immediately and formatted it for use. I then put it in the unit and had the same result. I am aware of the possible limitations of the size of SD card, so I purchased a SanDisk 32G micro SD card. I had the same result. I followed all the previously mentioned steps all with the same result. I then purchased a 16G Patriot micro SD card and had the exact same result. Again I followed all the previous steps to ensure I didnt have bad cards.

So I have been unsuccessful in getting 3 different micro SD cards to work on the unit when the same cards work on other Android systems. I purchased a USB SD card reader and if I use the USB port next to the SD card slot, the system can access the SD cards. So the unit appears to be able to access the SD cards that I have purchased through the USB port but nothing will work on the SD port.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have downloaded the img file and put it on an 8G PNY USB 2.0 thumb drive as my SD card slot wont read anything. I had used the thumb drive earlier to listen to MP3 files. I deleted everything off the drive so just the img file was in root. I plugged it into the dongle for the USB port in the front and Android saw the USB device. It stated that there was an update found and asked if I wanted to install it. There is a check box to wipe data as well. This time I chose not to wipe data. It rebooted and came up with "Error" (see screen shot). I tried the same process again with selecting to wipe data. It rebooted and then statind it was Erasing and then went to "Error". It did a boot loop 2 times and then it booted back up and looked like it had converted to system defaults and my files had been removed. I then formatted the USB drive through the unit and copied the img file and tried it again with the same result. I grabbed a Samsung 32 Gig USB 3.0 thumb drive and tried the same thing and got the same result.

My apologies. I forgot to mention that the SD cards still do not function after the suggested actions.

I have reached out to Amazon seller contact. There is no video link in your message. I have found some online but wanted to verify they are the correct one.
