External mic not working

The supplied external mic doesn't work. The mic built into the unit does work.

The supplied mic has a 3.5mm plug (similar to headphones), the radio has an RCA/phono plug. To fit it I had to by an adapter.

I don't know of the cause of the problem is the mic, the adapter, or a software setting. Can you help me troubleshoot this please.

Hi,
you need not to buy an adapter.There is an mic connector cable behind the unit.

If you connect these two cable and the external mic still doesn't help,you can consider contacting the customer service to change one.

The 3G/US/Mic cable is as pictured. The mic is different to the pictured one, it has a different plug that does not fit the connector cable without an adaptor.

It looks like I've been sent the wrong mic. I'll contact customer services.
