Problem: No subwoofer output
I am using the Pumpkin 11-c0255 USA listed below in my signature with a Soundstream PN5.640D amplifier, 4 ohm 6.5" component speakers up front and 4 ohm 4.5" component speakers in the rear panels. I have two 6.5" subwoofers by the rear seat, they are 6 ohms wired in parallel, so they are a 3 ohm load. My amp can drive a 2 ohm load on any channel so that is not the problem.
I'm using the radio's RCA outputs via an RCA cable to the amp. Since the amp has two inputs (left and right) for the subwoofer channel and the radio has only one output, I tired right left then right. Neither made a difference.
I turned off the bypass (filter) settings on the amp.
I used two test tones (50 Hz and 1000 Hz) and a digital multi meter to set the amp's gain controls for the subwoofer and the 4 main channels. I saw a wide voltage range for the 4 main channels and next to nothing for the subwoofer.
EDIT: The 50 Hz tone came across the main speakers, so it appears the main outputs are full range. See my followup post for a possible (extra cost) solution via an electronic crossover.
When I connected the speakers, I have good sound on the 4 main channels and no sound on the subwoofer.
I've looked through the settings and do not see any subwoofer bypass on the radio.
Any idea why the radio is not outputting on the subwoofer output?

Re: No subwoofer output
As a possible solution, I'm considering a 3 way electronic crossover such as the Cadence CXR-7. It allows 4 inputs (Front L/R and Rear L/R) and 6 outputs (Front L/R, Rear L/R, and SW). It allows for various crossover points, so it should do the trick for the SW input my amp needs.
I'd suggest if the Pumpkin SW output does nothing to remove it.

What app are you using?? I happen to notice if I use any app aside from what the radio comes installed with I only crappy sound and no sub out. For instance, Spotify. I set to stream Extreme and download my playlist in Extreme and it sounds sh!tty, but if I bluetooth with unit and use the Spotify app on my phone I get great sound from all outputs. Same goes for Netflix and Hulu. I use the FM Radio app and the sound is fine. There has to be something else going on with the software.
Re: No subwoofer output
Thanks for the reply. For both the test tones and music, I was using the default music player that comes with the radio. I loaded the test tones onto a USB stick and I loaded my MP3 music onto the "GPS" micro SD card. I have ordered a Cadence CXR-7 crossover and a second set of RCA cables to rectify the problem.

Re: No subwoofer output
Hi.
I'm considering getting a sub-woofer to add to my car as the Pumpkin HU sound is nowhere near the quality of the factory-fitted Sony that it replaced in my Ford Mondeo Mk4. This is especially noticeable on the bass (which is weak at best!). I'm not really clued-up on car audio so I'm looking for a simple(ish) solution and was wondering how your project was going.
Did you get the sub-woofer line to work full-time?
Thanks.

Re: No subwoofer output
Yes, the Cadence electronic crossover helped resolve the problem.
