Two days ago i installed my new S07 (11-RQ0368E-DE-A) in my wifes Golf 5 and today i spent some time to install Navi Software and set up the unit. This took a while, so the car battery drained. So i started the car (which it just barely did) and since then the unit is dead! It doesn't turn on any more. Is it possible that the weak battery caused a power spike which blew the fuse? Did anyone ever experience something similar? Should i expect something like this in the future?
Also some other questions:
- I installed Apple Music and when playing music trough this app the Radio app is not muted. Is there a setting to auto-mute the radio app when another app is playing?
- To avoid having the often mentioned battery drain problem i consider to wire the unit with the cable without CAN module. Is it correct that i will only be missing the features like door alert, car specs and so on?
- When a Micro-SD card is inserted in the GPS card slot, the slot cover is not locking correctly anymore and is dangling around. Is this a known issue?
Naviceiver dead due to weak battery??
Re: Naviceiver dead due to weak battery??
Hi,
Sorry for the trouble caused.
For the car battery drain issue, could you please tell us if the unit will automatically turn off when you pull out of the car key?
And you can use the power cable without canbus to check, just cut the red wire and connect it to your cigar lighter positive pole. Then the unit will not drain your car battery and you just miss the door alert, car specs and swc.
For the radio app, it's the factory default app, when switch to the third party apps, it will still work, but you can press the Back touch button to close it, then you will only hear one kind sound from the third party app.
For the GPS card slot cover, this is not a known issue, just a rare happened case, and it will not affect the micro SD card using in the slot, please don't worry about this.
Regards
