Radio issue and poor reception - keep retuning

hi

i recently purchased a new head unit ORDER # 202-8036049-5718701

the radio reception is really bad and keeps trying to retune - can you confirm i am on latest firmware / software - mine is

and why does it keep trying to retune - also AF does not seem to work well

Hi,
The firmware of your unit is the latest.
For the radio reception problem,it may caused by radio antenna,surrounding and ANT-CONT connection and so on.
Please first check whether you had connect the antenna tight?
For the retune problem,we suggest you turn off the AF option. Because when the signal is weak,the radio could turn to next station if you turn on AF function.

i have now taken out the HU and checked all the connections and all good

i also did a full reset

the radio is now not trying to retune all the time but its also not finding many stations - also there is as lot of background hiss/white noise/interference

however the reception does seem to improve when i run Igo and use the gps - ie as soon as the gps locates the radio reception improves

For the radio problem,you can try to install a signal amplifier to improve the reception ability.
You can contact the customer service to send you a signal amplifier.
