CN01-02306B rebooting randomly

Hi,
my CN01-02306B head unit is randomly rebooting - it used to be just when I was in the hills (windy roads and poor radio reception) but lately it's all the time. I recently did a 16hr drive (8hrs each way) and it was really frustrating. Has anyone seen this before? Do you have a solution?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew.

Hi, here is the firmware for your unit. You can have a try.
https://mega.nz/#!PTRUnKxK!zM5Rq7xIuZ20 ... La8U_XA1AI Please download it to the root content of one sd card or USB stick and insert it into the GPS slot if you choose the card .Next insert the card into the GPS slot .Then enter settings - system - system update .
Regards

Hi Jammy,
sorry for the delay in trying to install the update, but I'm not sure how to apply the update. I downloaded the img file, put in the root of the micro-sd card, inserted into the card slot, select settings/system/system update but nothing happens. I'm wondering if I need to write the img file to the SD card (like mentioned in
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=267) rather than just copy the img file to the root of the sd card???

Hmmmm, the head unit finally noticed that the update image file was in the root of the SD card, rather than selecting update system in the setup app. I chose to go ahead with the upgrade. The progress bar got to a out half way and then stopped moving at all. I kept the car turned on for about 2 hours and it did not progress any further before I (had to) turn off the car.
Now it looks like I've bricked the head unit.
When I turn it on now, I see the Pumpkin splash screen and it doesn't progress beyond that. It occasionally goes black momentarily (for less than 2 secs) but then returns to the pumpkin splash screen.
Is there any coming back from this situation?

You may need replace a new Android board...if the update fail.
Though, upgrade failed is really rare, that's why we suggest do not upgrade...

Jam

I applied the firmware update at your recommendation to resolve the constant rebooting... Are you saying that I should not have applied the firmware update?
Also, if i need to replace the Android board, how do I source one of those? (I'm sure I'm capable of fitting it)

Well, I've managed to recover from what I feared was a bricking of the headunit. I used the technique shown on this video -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz1fDlK6UQ8I'm not sure that the update was actually applied since the headunit is still randomly rebooting. The system version info is shown in this photo:
