The current version android is 4.4.4 The unit unit freezes quite often and the volume control does not work.

Is there any upgrade to 5.1 android? Some of the programs I want to use,are not compatible with this android version .

There is not a android 5.1 update firmware which can be installed into your unit.
Could you please tell us what programs you want to use but not compatible with android 4.4 version?
I have to tell you that even the android 5.1 unit maybe still not compatible with programs you said.
But we will help you test and you can also try to use other apps which have the same function.

That is not really a good news I was trying to install speed dial widgets like this one for example , none of them seams to work with this version of android
