Any need to update Kitkat to Lollipop?

Postby tommes » Tue May 24, 2016 10:39 am

Hello,

I am new here and dont know if this is the right board:
I didn´t found any discussion about a possible need to update a Kitkat to Lollipop.
The only advantage for me might be App-Compatibility.

Whats about Performance, Bugfixes, new Features and so on?

Am i able to update my Pumpkin?

(Amazon / You changed the Product, since mine was the Pumpkin 2, Din7, Android 4.4.4 Device, not the now available Android 5.1)

Hi, about updating a Kitkat to Lollipop, sorry that currently we don't have the Lollipop firmware, and normally we don't suggest our clients flash the item. What you said is right, the only advantage just might be App-compatibility, the Lollipop does not affect the performance, bugfixes and new features.
If you still want to get it, once we get the Lollipop firmware from the factory, and after testing it and it's available on KitKat unit, we can send it to you.

Hi, we have the Lollipop firmware, but the factory told us that it is not available on Kitkat unit, even if it was installed, the unit may have problem which is hard to be solved in the future.
Here is the link of our latest KitKat firmware for RQ0362E.

Hi, about how to update/install this firmware, here is another forum for your reference.

If you have problem during the process, please tell us.
You need to backup your installed apps, the preinstalled apps on the unit, you can reinstall it from OEM.

Hi Jammi,

i have tried to update my device with your IMG file, it booted in the 4.4.44 Restore Screen, runs a lot of lines and after this restarted.
But in the About Tab, i only see the old known 4.4.4 Android, Build 29 March 2016.
So I think, this is wrong, isnt it?

I´ve tapped on this "Speed" Icon in the upper "swipe-down" menu and now, howle time the bootlogo is shown on the screen and nothing happens.
