Also, the support staff will not issue a refund since I am beyond my warranty by two months. I would even take an exchange if possible to see if my unit is faulty or if it my car that is faulty.

i have a query: a few second after you start the engine and display the wrong time,does the time change to the correct one?
you can do as follows :
1.first switch the option "automatic date and time" on .
2.then start the engine and after the unit is completely start on ,if you find the time is wrong,please enter the GPS info or GPS test app to see whether there is any signal you receive.Normally ,the time would be wrong for few seconds but it should be automatically changed to the correct one after you receive GPS signal .Could you mind show me an picture about the GPS signal info page while you cold boot the unit and display a wrong time ?
