Steering Wheel Control Problem

Hello,
I'm hoping that somebody can give some insight into this problem:
I have an after market steering wheel control which I installed for my head-unit. All the SWC buttons have been programmed to the HU player. However, the SWC stops working within 10 minutes and my player will not respond to input from the SWC.

Why does it stop working after it initially works fine?

I've never seen an explanation for this on any of the forums.

I don't know what type of headunit you have but I had the same problem I fixed it by doing this.

At the very least I now know one remedy for the problem.
