SWC next doesn't work with Google Play Music (6.0)

I did the learning of the steering wheel controls, and it seemed to work. The next/previous takes me to the next radio preset. However, when I listen to Google Play Music, the next and previous buttons don't do anything. I can change the volume, but that's it.

The next/previous can also work with the default music player, not the third party music player or website music. Sorry about this.

I asked the exact same question and have the same issue using with Spotify app .I was told the prev/next should work after a factory reset !!! Now you are been told it can't work with third party players ?? WHY NOT ??? Surely this something that can be fixed with an update . A lot of users will be using third party players and as part of driving safety would expect the steering controls to work with all applications surely . My steering wheel controls have always worked with other equipment such as iPods and phones using MDI/USB or Bluetooth so why not with your units ?

There maybe something misunderstood. The third party apps are not the equipment iPod and iPhone as you said.
And it does not matter with the update android system.
But you can try to install some custom apps in the system to have this keys working. Hope some help.

Hi,
I don't know the similar app which works with the android 6.0 unit.
So I suggest you use the default apps on the unit, they are able to be controlled by the SWC buttons.

Just try the App even if it is not for your head unit.

I have the new Model RQ0278 and can control Google Play Music and Spotify with SWC now.
It did not work before.
