Couple of issues for RQ0264E-UK

Postby streethawk9081 » Sun Mar 19, 2017 12:44 pm

Hi There,

A couple of issues I have encountered recently since changing my car.

So i have had this head unit for nearly a year, and recently changed my car, previously I did not use the steering wheel controls as the car did not have any, but new car does.
I purchased the Connects2 kit for my specific car (Honda Civic) and connected the GND, KEY1 & KEY2 but i cannot seem to get the controls to work. The COnnects2 unit is fine as the controls for time, date etc still work fine by the steering wheel.
Have tried the Key mapping on the head unit, but when I select an entry, and then press the button on the steering wheel, it simply doesnt do anything.

Also, my WIFI fails to load occasionally, it works most of the time, but sometimes when I turn the unit on, the WIFI does not connect, when I go to settings and try to turn WIFI off then on again, the setting does not work, only way around this problem so far is to turn the engine off and back on again after 40 secs to completely restart the head unit. WIFi will work fine for a few days after this.
Is there a firmware update for this unit? perhaps that will fix this problem?

Finally, can someone send me a PDF of the user manual? i have lost mine.

Thanks

Hi,
Could you please first tell us your order number or buyer ID?
For the steering wheel control, it will work when you connect the swc wire correctly and learn the buttons on the key study menu.
You can refer the below tutorial video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDUJRSyU3ko
For the wifi issue, please tell us your current system version, we can send you the new firmware if there is.
Regards

Thanks Jammy

Unfortunately I dont have the buyer ID as the unit was purchased for me as a present, I do know that it was purchased via Amazon however.
Serial Number is d2012a0d0806090407e00a5133504b52 if you can trace the unit / purchase with that?

Got this from the QR code for the current build
MCU version:
MTCB-KLD6-V2.86
May 04 2016 17:36:42
Android version:
5.1.1
Kernel version:
3.0.101+
root@chun #6
Mon Mar 28 17:08:02 CST 2016
Build number:
rk3188-userdebug 28042016.17:25:07

As for the Key mapping issue, I looked at the video and all looks like what I have done,
i.e
Key1, Key2 & GND are all connected as expected,
but still nothing?

Hi,
The amazon order number would help us confirm your product details.
For the steering wheel control, please go to the settings and do a factory data reset, then try to learn the swc keys again.
Could you please send the picture of your original cable or the swc wire connection?
We will give you the further instruction later.
Regards

Ok thanks Jammy,

Unfortunately the car is possibly one of the most difficult I have ever had to replace a stereo in. the whole centre console and half the dash has to come out. with that in mind, please give me a few days to get some pictures. I will try to do this over the weekend.

Order details from Amazon are 203-2169437-7375546

Did you have any luck with a new firmware?

Thanks for your help

Hi,
Thanks for your kind understanding.
There is an update firmware, here is link, but it does not matter with the steering wheel control.

You can refer the below forum to download and install the update firmware.

Thanks Jammy. Really appreciate all your help.

New Firmware installed, hopefully all will be okay with the WiFi now, I will update in next few days.
Still have not taken the car apart to change the cables and get pictures, but hoping to do this soon.

Is there an update for the EasyConnected software? It installs the app onto my phone (LG G5) but the headunit doesn't seem to recognise that its done, keeps saying to retry. Not a major problem if not.

Thanks again

So I am really disappointed. Was hoping that the new firmware would solve the issue of the WiFi not being able to switch on, but this morning when I went to work it did it again.
Any other ideas on how to resolve the issue around the WiFi?
Thanks

Hi,
Sorry for the wifi issue brought to you.
If the wifi could not be switched on, I suggest you get a wifi dongle to make it as the built in wifi module to receive the wifi signal, then you can search the around wifi and connect it to internet.
