Dab+ box - really bad quality reception

Hi there, I’ve just installed the new android 8.0 unit. It’s great.
Unfortunately though the DAB reception is terrible. This is with the antenna in a very good location on the windscreen.
It’s the dab box you plug into one of the two usb sockets.
Could it be faulty,or is it really this bad?
I ordered it from the Pumpkin UK website.
