Pumpkin AS0372B powered subwoofer connected but no sound

Postby globalian » Tue Jan 15, 2019 8:50 pm

Hi, I have just bought and installed today a new Pumpkin car stereo model number : AS0372B 8" VW Android stereo CN01-03302B-02A to my car which is a VW EOS.

The Pumpkin stereo is working fine, but I have connected my Pioneer Pioneer TS-WX210A Active Car Subwoofer via the one RCA cable connection at the rear of the Pumpkin stereo, I've connected the blue wire from the subwoofer to the blue wire on the leads and there is power going to the sub. But

there is no sound coming through my subwoofer. I'm wondering why there is only one subwoofer RCA lead on the Pumpkin stereo, when most car stereos have two RCA subwoofer connections.

I have tested my subwoofer and its working fine on my other car stereo which is an Alpine which has two rca subwoofer connections on the back of the unit.

My Pioneer subwoofer has two RCA leads one red and the other white. On the Pumpkin there is only one RCA cable for connecting a subwoofer. So I attached a y splitter cable, but still there is no sound coming out of my Pioneer subwoofer.

Please can you advise me if the Pumpkin stereo supports a powered subwoofer, and is there any other way I can get it to work my subwoofer. I’ve read online a PAC LC-1 Remote Amplifier Level Controller may enable the powered subwoofer to work, but I’m not buying one if it doesn’t solve the problem.

Hi,you can directly connect the RCA cable " Audio out 1" and "Audio out 2" instead of the "subwoofer "to your pioneer subwoofer .

Hi Jammy, Thanks for your advice.

I tried connecting the RCA cable to the Audio out 1 and Audio out 2 but still no sound coming out of the subwoofer.

I was wondering if I need to get a Audio High to Low Level Car Speaker to RCA Amplifier Line Output Converter

Hi, sorry for that the RCA cables i pointed on the last post are not labelled "Audio out 1/2" . In fact ,they are labelled " Rear left out " ,"rear right out ","front left out " ,"front right out ". You should connect these cable to your sub .
Second, if there still no sound , you can check whether you plug the audio cable tight .

Third, did you get an mutimeter ? You can try to measuring the power of those audio out put .

"they are labelled " Rear left out " ,"rear right out ","front left out " ,"front right out ". You should connect these cable to your sub"... But we need to connect those leds to 2 front and 2 rear speakers! I just installed Pumpkin ND0292B the subwoofer out of my unit also has no signal( sound)! Lucky my amp can get subwoofer signal from speakers input.

@MRW because I am using an external amplifier. Problem here is that rca for sub woofer is not working(no signal)clearly it is not only me if you think I have a faulty unit. That's misleading to me and other customers thinking we could connect to subwoofer and JAMMY suggests that we connect to either of those rca for regular speakers, but I said I need those for my front and rear speakers. Anyhow the signal from the rca leads are so weak,I ended up using speaker to rca converter to connect to my amplifier and forget the rca connectors from the unit. Like you said "The absolute fact is, most people don't even use these particular phono/RCA outs."... That's true. But some people would like to add sub woofer and they have a problem.
