Rearview Camera Issue
Posted: Thu Aug 06, 2020 9:53 am
Hello everybody.
For technical details of the device, please refer to my signature.
I ran into an issue installing a rearview camera.
The camera is connected to the device with a standard RCA connector.
The power supply is established through the power supply of the backdriving light (12V).
From the +12V line of the backdriving light there is a separate connection to the
"REVERSE" cable of the stereo, so that the stereo is able to detect if the camera is
needed.
So far, this is all made as described in the schematics.
ISSUE:
When all is set up, the stereo is ALWAYS in "Rearview" mode, without any possibility to
use radio or any other source. You cannot switch any menu.
If the gear is not shifted in "reverse" the screen just shows "No Signal".
If the gear is shifted in "reverse" the screen shows the picture of behind the car (as intended).
For further information:
Since now i have not used any adapter for CANbus, because i am not sure, if it is needed.
My car is a "Mazda Tribute V6 3.0" from 2001 built in USA.
The lightings of the car are not in overwatch of the CANbus, so it is not measurable if there
is a clocked voltage to the the backdriving light.
If there is any idea of what is going wrong, i would be glad to hear about...
