Hello,
I recently purchased your excellent new 7.1 head unit. I've been trying to remove the default home screen widgets as I don't need them. So far I've had no success.
Is there a way that I can accomplish this?

You can use another Launcher for Android. Car Launcher AG, Car Launcher pro etc. etc. Or for a simple solution use google now launcher. All this apps are in the google play shop.

How do you default to the desired launcher?

I Installed Google launcher and it prompted me to change the default.

However, I see no option to change it.

Working now, it's much better than the pumpkin launcher.

Agreed. Using car launcher ag now without issue.
Just need a more user friendly bluetooth/phone app now and the unit will be damn good!
