radio reception changes through different screens

hi I have the 8 core unit
if listening to AM station if I leave the radio screen the audio buzzs some if I go back to the radio screen buzzing it goes away
how you fix that

and why does it shut off doing other things I want it to stay on always

how do you update the firmware for this unit as I'm sure it needs updating
