I would like to be able to modify the shortcuts on the home screen. I can achieve this with standard android drag and drop, but on cold restart the defaults return.

I would also like a speed reading widget on the home screen. The clock is OK, but not as useful as a speed reading. The reason is that I frequently change tyre sizes so the normal speedo is not much use.

Please advise how the home screen can be modified.

Normally,you just need to hold down the icon and drag them to the home screen.

I purchased from PumpkinAU on E-Bay.

I have a four wheel drive Patrol. When towing my caravan, I use 31" diameter tyres (what the car leaves factory with).

When I go off-road through mountain trails, I fit 33" mud terrain tyres, which then makes the vehicle speedometer wrong.

It would be useful to have the GPS in the device display speed on the skin. The clock is fine but the speedometer function would be far more useful.

I know that in normal android you just drag the icon away and then drag a new one in it's place. Normal android you can also add/change widgets. For this car unit, I can change an icon, but on reboot it reverts to stock skin. Also cannot add any widget to replace clock widget.

Dragging an icon to the home screen works but only until the unit cold boots, when the original icons come back.

I change tyres on my vehicle for different activities - when I go off-roading, I fit bigger tyres, which make the factory speedo read below actual road speed. This exposes the risk of speeding fines, so I like to have the GPS speed indicated on my dash radio.

I contacted customer service and have not received a reply.

thanks for explanation.
We tested the same unit.You can drag other widgets to the home screen except for the first page,because the clock widget and radio widget can not be changed.And the unit will save this setting no matter the unit cold boot. For your problem, you can recover the unit to factory settings.
If you want to display the speed on the screen,you can also use IGo map.It has this function. You can contact the customer service to get the map(including the app).

Pretty sad, really.

A lot of my fellow campers have asked if the Pumpkin unit is any good, and I have to tell them to buy something else, as there is no support from Pumpkin.

very sorry for pay little attention to your post before.I misunderstanding that you communicated with cybersquirrel .
For your first opinion, since there is a quite large power consumption of the unit ,so we don't add this function to the unit.Hope your kind understanding.
For your second opinion,can i think the hot boot as fast boot ? The unit itself support fast boot function.But first you need to choose the "auto sleep" option.
