PUMPKIN Android 8.0 Car Stereo Stuck In Recovery

I've only been using the unit for 2 days, and it's now inoperable - other than the backup camera (thankfully).

The first issues I noticed was that apps were constantly crashing and a popup message was showing asking me to reopen them. Waze and the stock launcher were the most common offenders of this, however Spotify was also encountering the issue.

Anyways - I was listening to music (through Spotify with Waze open as well) - and the entire head unit went dark and began to reboot. It sat at the Pumpkin logo screen for what seemed forever, then showed me the GPS navigation screen, then entered into recovery.

Inside recovery it says any key to move the selection,and long press to select. However no matter what key I press (home, back, navi, or turning the volume knob) nothing moves. No matter how long I depress one, nothing gets selected. The only button that seems to do anything is the RST button, but all it does is brings me back into the recovery menu telling me that the system is unable to be loaded as it is most likely corrupted.

Now - firstly - this does not make me feel very good about the quality of the product. It took 2 days of usage for the unit to pretty much break? What sort of quality control is in place?

Second - I have looked high and low on this site, xda developers, youtube, and of course just google searching on how to resolve. However, it seems that most other units have an actual power button, whereas this unit does not. Soo - at this point, I am not quite sure how I am to go about trying to repair the OS within recovery when I am unable to select any options to flash an updated image.

I do have an SD card and USB stick - and have tried loading a couple different update.zip files onto them that I was able to find from my searches, however as I stated before - without being able to select anything it seems to be a dead end.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I will just get a refund from Amazon and go with a different vendors product.

sorry for bad experience to you.This should be an accident .All of our unit will be check entirely before sending out .
For this issue, you can flash the following firmware.

1.Please download this files(do not unzip it ) to the root content of one sd card or USB and insert the card into the GPS slot (if you choose sd card).
2.Then hold on(long press) the power botton(the volume rotary knob) and then click the RST button, after nearly 3s ,loosen the power button and short press it again quickly , the unit will automatically enter into recovery mode.
3.rotate the volume rotary knob or short press it to choose the option " update the firmware from ...",then long press the rotary knob to confirm it.

Hello,
I have the same issue ... all sudden I am in the recovery menu and don't get out. Anyways none of the button/key works. I can not navigate the menu. I even unplugged the radio for a day ... still back in the recovery mode.

Also the firmware is not downloadable anymore.
BTW. I don't have a power button anymore like in the video!

Hi,
the volume knob is the power button,you can short press it choose the option in the recovery mode.

Just download it to the root content of one sd card.
