Hello,
Some months ago I bought a headunit from Amazon.de.
Few days ago, the hardware buttons - Home, Back, Navi, Power ( pressing the knob ) - stopped working. However the volume up and down ( knob rotate ) is still working.
I checked the Factory settings -> Steering wheel keys and there are no mapped buttons. I'm not sure the headunit hardware buttons should be visible there or only the Steering wheel buttons.
I tried "Reset keys" button and then remapping the buttons, but when I press any button ( headunit or steering wheel ) nothing pops up on the screen to configure.
Is there a firmware update that could resolve the issue, or a way to reset the MCU's stored configuration.
My current software versions are:
MCU : MTCE_KLD_V2.78_2 (16/01/2018 19:19:56)
Build: px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20180308.091100 test-keys
PS: For any other users having an issue with the Radio reception. I had forgot to connect the blue "Auto Antenna control" lead to the blue lead from my antenna harness. This was causing fewer stations to get detected and often tuned stations "disappeared" while driving. After connecting it, everything is working great, and I even detect more stations around me.

hi,
here is an article about how to remap the panel button in the factory settings page.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwdfiShHIvY
About your issue, i suggest you using an thin stick to click the reset button to reboot the unit first.
Did your steering wheel control works normally ?
More query, please tell me your order number .

Hello Jammy,
Amazon Order number: 306-0411174-1870723
I looked at the video, but when I open the CAR -> Factory settings -> Key Study, and press the buttons to program them - nothing happens. No prompt appears so I can choose the functions - the study program does not recognize the button press - both for Headunit's hardware buttons nor for the Steering wheel buttons.
I rebooted the unit several times with the RST button, but to no effect and Factory reset several times.
I tried the "Button panel reset" button as well, but still the Key Study screen does not recognize any button presses:
In the "Facotory settings -> other" tab I see the steering wheel study is "Enabled":
I also checked and there is no CANBUS enabled, so that's not the issue as well:
I verify that there are no stuck buttons on the panel - all of them can be freely pressed and return to normal afterwards.
I can't say if the Steering wheel keys were working before, since I connected them after the headunit hardware buttons stopped working. This is because I didn't have the proper cable, so the Key1, Key2 and GND pins from the headunit were not connected to anything.
Could I somehow hard reset the unit ( erase the MCU memory/configuration ) so to return the unit to stock configuration ? Since the headunit buttons worked before for several weeks, without any change in the hardware ( i.e. unit was not moved, rewired, etc ), but I had some of the settings in the Factory tab several days before the issue.
Could we try a MCU flash with some new or even the same version as the current one ?
