Problem with Time

Postby Dexter » Thu Sep 27, 2018 9:49 am

Hello, recently i bought this Head unit SKU: ND0377B ( Android 8.0 for VW ) and installed and so far so good. My only problem for the moment is with the time and date of the unit. Specifically when i manually set it ( without auto sync via GPS/Internet ) after a cold boot the date and time are lost. If i enable the auto sync of the date and time via GPS/Internet when i boot the unit and have access to internet everything is good but if i am somewhere that i do not have access to the internet the time is always wrong and to be precise it is always 1 hour behind. My time zone here in Greece is GMT+3 and although this is the time zone that the head unit automatically sees the time is always one hour behind. Is this a known issue ? It is honestly frustrating that the time is wrong all the time.

Hello, i already tried that but even if i set the time zone manually the next time that the headunit boots and it does't have internet access the hour is completely wrong.

Hello again,

First of all i tried setting the correct time directly but after i power off the car and on again the time is set at 14:00 1/1/2017. Also i tried everything shown at the link you provided but again i had the same problem. I am posting a video which shows the Headunit starting with internet connection and correct time and then i turn off the WiFi and turn off and on again the car. The Date and Time are completely off.

It is like that the Headunit loses the info every time it powers off like it is not connected to the car battery. Just to be clear i have problem only with the time every other setting or memory are in place and correct

I tried everything shown on the link but unfortunately no luck. Every time i power on the car and the headunit boots if it doesn't have internet connection the time and date goes to 14:00 1/1/2017. On video i disabled the GPS sync and turned off the wifi and after a restart the time was off again as shown.

Hi,
sorry for the late reply due to the Chinese National Day holiday.
About your issue, normally when you turn off the car and turn on again the unit should fast boot ,but your don't . So you can plug out the unit and exchange the position of yellow wire and red wire . This can also solve the time issue you suffered .

Its okay i just didn't receive a confirmation from the moderators and i wasn't sure if the post got stuck or something. Okay your advice did the trick! Swapped the red and yellow cables and now not only the time is okay but also the HU doesn't shut down entirely, instead it goes into sleep so it boots up immediately after switching on the ignition! Thank you very much for the help!
