GPS Antenna and Mic RQ0368E+Y0801

Hello Guys,

i recently got the RQ0368E+Y0801 8'' Din 2 for a VW Golf 5 (2007).

I didn't install the rear view cam, since I don't need it. I added the GPS antenna and the microphone and both seem to not work. GPS status shows there is a GPS signal, but it is not even close to where I am (like 10 timezones wrong). Google Maps and an other navi-software i insalled (sygic) both won't load. Allways just the notification "XXX was shut down/was closed" (Might be wrong translated since I have the German Version).
Also the external mic doesn't work.

I'm pretty new to this and and haven't found any other thread here which could help...

Hi,
For the rear view camera, you can go to the Settings-->factory settings(126)->others to set the "reversing switch".
Please don't change other settings in factory settings, cause it may bring other problem even damage the unit.
For the GPS signal, please go to the settings-->GPS-->GPS monitor to check the satellites status, normally only receiving above thress satellites signal, then the GPS navigation will work without any problem. But due to the Google map and sygic navigation app need to be connected to internet, the navigation is also related to the internal connection speed.
For the external mic, please tell us what kind external mic you used, it's just the second choose when the internal mic hole does not work well.
When you make or receiving a call, please adjust the volume both the phone and the unit to proper level, and well close the windows, try to suppress the surrounding interference.
