Hi!
The vehicle is a Skoda Octavia 1,9 TDI, 4x4 2007. It had original navigation. See attached picure for original plug. You can see the red/white and brown wires as explained in previous post. Both red/white wires have 12V all the time, even without the key.

I noticed another problem today. When I removed the HU it felt a bit warm. I checked with a current clamp, and the HU draws about 500-600mA in standby. I measured on the main wire from the battery, and other systems in the car also draw current, so I don`t know exactly how much the HU draw. But when I disconnected the HU the current draw dropped another 500-600mA.

The constant power on pin 16 might perhaps cause the battery drain problem? I found a diagram that I think is correct for my original radio.

Hi,
For the start of the unit problem,it is the CANBUS build-in problem.
You can contact the customer service to get a new stereo.

Is the built in canbus decoder a separate card that I can change myself? I`m a EE, and have experience in servicing electronics. I don`t mind getting a new stereo, but not if I have to pay for shipping the old unit back.

Hi,
the build-in CANBUS can not be desperated from the mainboard.

Hi again!
I got a new mainboard from customerservice. I have removed the old one, and installed the new. Applied new thermal compound on the audio chip, and moved an insulation washer from the old board to the new board. So far so good, but when I removed the screen, 4 small plastic pieces fell out, and so far I`m not able to see where they should be mounted. Do you have a picture that show where they are mounted?

This is my best guess so far. Two plastic pieces on top of each other on each top corner. This prevents the screen from moving upwards.

But why two pieces on top of each other? Hm..

Hi,
we also only find two plastic pieces on the place you found to fix the screen when we remove the screen of the model machine.
You can ignore the other two pieces.

Yes, seems ok. I have now assembled the head unit, and will try it in my car when I get time.

The new main board works, I now get canbus decoding. But I have two issues:
1. DAB+ sometimes stops working, the signal indicator then start flashing between white and then back to green. Usually I can restart the DAB+ app, and it`s working again. Sometimes this happen again, and sometimes is it working for the rest of the trip. The signal level is full (5 bars), so the signal should be ok.
2. The HU always cold reboots, taking about 30 seconds. Annoying, as I have a rear camera installed. As far as I remember the HU did this with the old mainboard as well.
