In my unit RQ0264 there are IR. For what is?

Hi,
The IR on the unit front fascia is used for receiving the signal from the remote which can control the unit.
Since there are buttons and touch screen function, the IR and remote is rarely used. The factory keep this design but they send the remote with the unit any more, sorry for the misleading brought to you.

Ok, I understand that you don' t send the unit with a remote control. If I buy a universal remote control, can I use it in order to operate the unit from the wheel? The question is this: does the IR receiver of this specific car multimedia work? And if it works, how can I sychronize it with the remote control?

Hi,
This unit can support the steering wheel control based on analog resistance signal from the car, not the canbus system.
Here is a forum about how to connect the swc wire and make the steering wheel control work, hope some help.
