Hi There!
The wifi antenna, built on back of the unit is in a bad place for me. A lot of Metal is around. My reception is poor. Can i open the Unit and solder/mount an RP-SMA socket to extend to an external antenna?

Hi,
One of our clients ever said that he used an typical wifi antenna from an old router and brazed it on same point as the old antenna was.
You can try to check if the RP-SMA socket will improve the wifi signal reception.
Waiting for your good results.

Brazing it on is a suboptimal solution. can i open the unit to change the antenna like cabel with a sma connector. then i can test different antennas.

Hi,
If you are familiar with the electronic knowledge, you can open the unit and try your ideas.
Cause we have not done these similar change and the result you tested may have some risk of breaking the built in wifi module inside, please think twice.
