then i have to repeat my question. Is the external microphone working just after plugging in? The reason is: The internal microphone is very quiet, and after plugging in the external mic, there is no change in volume or quality...

Hi,
Do you mean the sound you speak toward microphone is too low to be heard by the oppsite?
You can try to install the external mic on the dashboard and speak toward to it as possible as you can.

I`m pretty sure I left all dip-switches off, except no 4 for the reversing camera. I use the supplied external mic, and audio quality improved noticeably over the internal mic. It is placed in the upper left corner, by the A-pillar. I also suffer the cold boot problem. Will try to update MCU.

BTW, I got this advice today from Jammy regarding the cold boot problem:

I think I have the same MCU-version as you now. It didn`t solve the cold boot problem for me.

sorry,one of our client said that this MCU can solve the cold boot problem of the unit.
So i send it to you.I know ,it takes a long time to solve this problem.However ,we test the same unit but don't find the problem.
Regarding the cold problerm,if you don't want to wait more, you can contact the customer service where you bought the unit to return the unit directly to China for repairing or just change one and so on.

Jammy, can I return mine to Amazon and upgrade to the 7.1 version from your UK website?

I will not return the unit to China as it was supplied from the UK and our consumer laws protect us from such nonsense.
