Radio Issues with CN01-02306B (DE1)

i found some Bugs with the new Unit CN01-02306B (DE1). But before i listen them up, i would like to ask if there's maybe meanwhile a new Update for this unit available?

Here the actual situation:

First the good news: All Problems with the “crypticals” in RDS-Mode are completely solved.

But the new radio issues are as follows:

General: Sometimes the Unit is very slow. To install or update a new App takes sometimes minutes. The same update on an old smartphone only seconds. With 200MB in cash, every click on the menu bar takes 3-5 seconds to take a response from the unit. That can’t be right. To clear the cash dosen’t had solved the problem. A reset had to be done to keep the unit back to life.

Radio:
In comparison to with the old model “CN01-02202B” (was returned an refunded), the new Machine CN01-02306B, that was proudly advertised: “With a new Radio-Chip “NXP TEF6686” for a better radio reception”, found much less Radio-Stations with the same Antenna used with the old CN01-02202B How could that be?

Not a big issue, but remarkable: The new unit is also much quieter and has much less output-power than the old one. Minimum Level to hear something is 10 and above! (Yes, I’d checked all modes).

A bigger issue is the Stereo-Function. Every time, the stereo-signal is lost (even with the strongest Radio-Stations in town!), the unit turns immediately into a “Mute-Mode” and turn than quickly back to the previous volume. So the Radio-Sound turns “on and off” every few seconds. This is, of course, very annoying. Important: In this cases, the Unit dosen’t switched to a stronger (or any other) frequency!!

Also the “AF”-Function dosen’t work properly. Once activated, very often the Unit dosen’t switch automatically to the strongest frequency of the same Station. Sometimes “yes”, but very often “no”.

General, the Unit needs very a strong Radio-Transmission and have many problems by traveling on longer Trips with changing Stations and Frequencies.

Another (but not critical) bug: The Buttons to save the Radio-Stations are dynamic and not static. The means: If you are traveling out of reach of the stations, all names are gone and become replaced with the frequency. It would be great if it becomes possible for the user to deactivate this function (means: to have a choice).

Media Player:
The old one (CN01-02202B) was very good and easy to handle. Even with a more complex file-structure. With the new one, is it very difficult to play all (or a selected) Song in only one selected file. Maybe I don’t have found the right way?

Any Ideas?

Here is a newer Firmware (Kernel from 9.Sept) avaiable. Could these Version solve the Problems?

witch changes in this menu has to be made, that the Radio don't get muted when loosing the stereo signal?

Hello,

I think i have found at least one easy reproducible reason for the performance problems of the unit.

It is the DAB + Module! Even with full reception (all signalbars are green) the Radio reception is almost very bad.

First i suspected the antenna as the cause of the problem. But it isn't. I could reproduce the error very easily. (Why is not the manufacturer tested?) The DAB reception is only half way acceptable, if NO further App is running in the background. As soon as any other app (navi or radar warning) is started (or any other function of the unit will be selected) the radio-reception immediately deteriorates dramatically. The device then reacts extremely slowly or do not react at all.

In my opinion, the unit is with the DAB reception completely overstrained and has a serious memory and performance problem!

At all, the device is very very slow. Even after reset to the factory settings (that you recommended): Even a very small app update, which is done on a very old LG90 smartphone is completely done in only 33 seconds, takes up to 3.5 minutes in average - per evey single app on the Pumpkin! That can't be right. Or is this the standard?

And now - after resetting - the DAB-App has now disappeared. Where can I find it again?

Please update me for the mentioned problems.

Regarding the problem of the slow update, do you mean the download speed of the new updated app or the install speed slowly? Did you check the net ?
