can you disable backup camera in software or need a switch

I cant find it in the OS of the radio I wanna sometimes just have it turned off when I put vehicle in reverse or even be able to turn it on without putting in reverse how can I do that

and I guess if there is no in radio to turn off camera can you guys add it in the next OS update

as all I can see is put a toggle switch inbetween radio and camera to shut the power off to the radio and camera.


also I need to add a relay running off the reverse lights make the screen flicker

Hi,
If you want to manually turn on or off the reverse camera,you need to modify the regarding wires. It is a little complex. We don't suggest you do that.It is universal that the unit switch to the reverse camera page when you put the car in reverse,so there is no update or a toggle about this .Hope your kind understanding.

You will have to manually give it 12V to activate the cam, and manually cut the supply to the cam when reverse is engaged.

All can be simply done with a switch.

ya ill probably just run a switch since it has that flicker in the camera where I get the power from the reverse light... so ill have to get a relay and run from battery to the relay to power the camera anyways to get rid of the power flicker in reverse light

as it doesn't do it when the engine isn't running and you have it in reverse
