12-C0257 Won't boot up

I have this unit:
Pumpkin Quad Core 7-inch 1024*600 Digital Touchscreen Double Din UNIVERSAL Android 4.4 Head Unit

This morning it is sitting at the bootloader screen, and won't pass this stage. I have only had it since April..

Any idea how to fix this?

Hi, could you please tell us your order number?
Regarding your issue, please turn on the unit, then use sticker to short press the RST hole on the front panel, then short press twice the middle button,
then long press the middle button, then check if the radio will automatically restore the system.

The unit does not do anything after these steps. It just sits there with a few pixels turned white, but certainly no restore process has been started. What now?

Hi,
we got a ROM file from the factory, you can try to install it to check.

After you open the link in your PC, you will see the update file, pls click "Download through your browser" to get the file. pls prepare an empty USB disk,after download, then copy the file into the USB disk.
Turn on the device,then insert the USB disk to the USB slot, wait about 5 seconds, the machine screen will pop up a serial discover new firmware, ask whether you need to upgrade,here is the video for your reference.

2 issues:

1. The mega file in not available for some reason.
2. The system update seems to require the HU to be up and running before you can re-image it. My HU is effectively dead as it will not reboot.

Or are you suggesting that even in its current state, inserting a USB disk with the image file on it should still trigger the update?

I have got the file to download now. Will take a little time on my slow connection though. I'd appreciate a response on my earlier question though.

My suspicions were right. The new ROM is not loaded, and won't load......

I think the unit needs to be swapped out...

This unit is still dead and it is 15 days since your last reply. How do I go about returning the unit for a refund or exchange? Via the Amazon website?
