Stereo switching off when starting car

How do I stop the Pumpkin stereo from rebooting when I start the engine on my car? It takes ages to start up. Is there a way in which I could install a seperate battery (or something) to keep the unit alive?

you can try to connect the red wire from power cable to the cigarette lighter.

Sounds like your car battery voltage might be dropping too low when cranking the engine. How old is your car battery?
