Saab 9-5 Android 7.1 double din install - hiss

Postby vininseattle » Wed May 09, 2018 1:57 am

Hi,

I'm installing the PUMPKIN Android Auto Android 7.1 double din into my 2005 Saab 9-5. I've had good luck so far following instructions for a similar install.

http://saabworld.net/showthread.php?t=84

I've gotten sound and the steering controls working. I have some static so installed a noise filter (GLI) to try to eliminate that issue, following these instructions.

https://news.autopumpkin.com/how-to-fix ... ing-sound/

I still have a hiss and think I may need to get a canbus decoder to make this work a little better.

The wires in the harness for the Saab 9-5 go straight to the amplifier in the car so you need to use these in this setup. I think I need to utilize the amp-on wire (blue/white) in the included harness but am not sure how!

Hi,
first,i suggest you attach two magnets to the yellow wire and black wire like following picture. These two magnet rings can protect the signal from disturbing.

Hi,
there is no way to do that unless you connect the yellow wire and the red wire from the power cable together. But in this way ,it might drain up your battery .

One my old head unit I could power up without having to turn the ignition on. I assume that was controlled through the bus somehow. I believe it worked when the keys were in the ignition, but not turned to ACC or ON. This was a great feature!
