Update software

Postby rfunder » Mon Jan 18, 2016 9:09 am

Hi

Where can I get the latest release of the Android software for my Pumpkin radio?
I have bought a Scantool OBDLink LX, and I can not get it to connect to the radio. It will not pair with the bluetooth

Regards

Renee

But would you mind tell us where and when did you bought the radio from us? Could you please give us your order number and purchased link so that we can check it for you?
And can you also give me the link of the Scantool OBDLink LX you bought from other seller to check?
Those information are very important for us to provide you the accurate and good solution, hope you can understand and do not worry, we will reply to you as soon as we can!

I bought the radio from Starstore88 on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/usr/starstore88?_tr ... 2749.l2754

and the OBDLink LX from:
http://www.ebay.com/usr/jr_tech_2015?_t ... 7675.l2559

OBDLink LX :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131580516953?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

OBDLink LX page:
http://www.obdlink.com/lxbt/

But I still need a software update even if we get the ODB to work.
I guess you provide software update, to the products that you make?

Renee

Hi there
Thank you for your reply!
I see that this item was bought at July last year, and it should be Android 4.4 system, right?
And this item is compatible with bluetooth OBD dongle only which we only suggest to use the ELM327 type. And we also advertised that the radio is support Torque app only as we only used that to test on our radio. Maybe your OBDLINK app do not compatible with the radio and caused not work?
For update firmware, could you mind send a system version screen shot to us to check before we send you the link to download? Cause we are not sure if we have newer version firmware or not, hope you can understand.
Regards!

Yes the Android version is "kitkat"

The Scantool OBDlink LX is the best on the market, and the system should support it.
the problem is, that it can't pair with the radio. It can see it, but it doesnt ask for paring code.

I will send a system screen shot later today.

PS. What parking sensors do you recormend to use with this radio - you can answer when you have the system screen shot.

Hi there
Sorry for replying you late due to different working time!
I see now, I think it may be this reason. Our radio can only connect to BT devices with 4 digit paircode device, could you plesae first check if your OBD device is with 4 digit paircode? Such as 1234? If yes, can you please first go to our radio's BT setting, change the radio's paircode to the same as the OBD device? And then you search the OBD device on the radio 's BT function to pair to check?
Regards!

The passcode consist of 6 numbers
It is supported by all other android systems (mobil phone, tablet, aso) why does the radio only support 4 number?
It is much less secure with 4 than 6.

I have added two pictures with the system information

Hi there
Thank you for your reply!
For firmware update, please check the following link to download and install to the radio:

https://mega.nz/#!II1HHCYJ!vVKvaIGoMdTt ... R_2QsyZr3w

And the radio built in BT module is not support to input pair code like a cellphone does my friend, so it can only support the 4 digits BT devices to connect. So even if update, it will not support, hope you can understand. You can try a WIFI OBD dongle or 4 digits BT OBD dongle to pair to work.
Regards!
