A few questions on this new unit I purchased

Postby Ed726 » Fri Jul 15, 2016 8:59 pm

Installed this today
11-RQ0264E+Y0811

Everything pretty good but some questions:

1. Why is audio interrupted when I put in reverse and is there a setting to stop that?
2. Went to verizon store for a 3g dongle, they said they need the imie number for the device to add to my accound. Is that true and if so where do I find it? Is there a different approach to using 3g dongle, or another way?
3. If I put videos on an sd card what resolution is best to work with this unit. My old pioneer would only work if I converted videos to 640x480.
4. Is there any built in maps, if so where do I find them or how would I use them instead of having to tether to my phone to use Google maps?

Thank you

Hi,
1. You can go to the Settings--Driving settings--Reversing volume to set and make the audio valid when you put in reverse.
2. About the 3g dongle, cause our unit can only recognize the WCDMA network type sim card, the data-only sim card is compatible with 4g and lower, but the 4g and lower from different provider have different signal band, so please make sure you can get the WCDM sim card from your local.
You can contact your provider and ask if they can provide the WCDMA network type sim card
3. About the video resolution that our unit supports, you can play the video to 1024*600, this is shown on our website listing.
4. If you want to use the built in maps or the offline maps, we can provide you a free maps from the factory, before we send it to you, please tell us your order number, so we can give you the right maps link to you. And once you get it, you just need to download and use it.
Regards

Thank you.

On #1, there was a setting to adjust reverse volume to either -10, -8, -6 or off. I tried them all but the audio still stops when in reverse.
On #2, I think you missed what I asked. I know the procedure and that I can get a WCDMA card but the service provider needs to assign the card to a device by its imie number and as far as I can tell the android head unit does not have one. I will try with serial number.
On number 4, yes please send maps download. Order number through amazon is 112-4763405-4919426

Most likely I will be ordering another one of these units for my other car, just want to fix these small issues first
Thanks

Hi, maybe the system did not recognize the reverse volume settings, after you set the reverse volume to 8/9/10, then please press the RST hole to keep the reverse volume setting and check it again.
If you insert the WCDMA sim card into 3G dongle, you just need to connect it to the USB port in the back of the unit, then wait for a few minutes, you will find a 3G signal icon on the top of the screen.
Here is the link of the maps for your unit RQ0264E.

You can refer the below forum to download and install the maps.

So I downloaded and installed, or so it seems but when I try to open the igo app it tells me to insert the sd card, even though it is already inserted, and I cannot get past this step.

Ok, it shouldn't be this hard to get things working. Very frustrating.

The igo installation does not work. I get error messages about "archived zip folder not supported". I did according to the video that shows the process. I also tried a couple of things on my own. Nothing I do gets it to work.

Second, and videos that I have on sd card only play audio through one speaker, not 2 or 4. Should play through minimum of 2 speakers.

Third, cannot get the audio to continue to play when reverse is used. I tried the rst button and did not work. Here is a video.
Please give me some useful help for all of these issues.

Hi, about the navigation installation, please check the steps as our forum and video shown, you may need to delete the old igo navigation app, then insert the SD card with maps into the GPS slot, refer this below tutorial video, hope you can finish it.

About the videos, could you please tell us if the unit play DVD and radio and the sound come out from four speaker?
The video from the SD card also output the sound from your car four speaker.

About the audio continue to play when reverse is used, you can follow the attached picture to choose the reversing volume "ON", the -8/-9/-10 is too low volume that the music or radio continue to play when the reverse is used.

Ok at first I got the same error but then when I clicked "ok" it actually installed and ran, so gps is working. My next question is why does it stop working when you move to another screen?
Example, when in navigation and have a route set it works fine, but if I go to the home screen or any other screen the navigation stops until you return to the navigation screen. On any other system the navigation stays active regardless of what screen you are looking at.

Hi, that's a weird issue, in our lad, we test the navigation on our unit, it works when we press back to the home screen.
Could you please go to the Settings--GPS to check if you open the GPS listen and if you can hear the voice announce when the unit shows the navigation screen?
If possible, would you mind take a short video, upload it to youtube, then send the link to us?
We will help you check and try to give you solution.
