Hi,
we will check the iphone 6s and tell you the answer later.
Regarding the firmware,it is strange. Here is another version of the firmware. You can have a try.

If you occur the same error, you can use a thin stick to click the RST hole to reset the unit and flash the unit again.

Re: Multiple issues - slow start up, radio reception patchy, music playback just stops, and more
Sorry to be away for so long without updates but here's the situation now.
I managed to flash the unit, there was some error with the download but I deleted it all and started again, the download and update worked. This seemed to fix the connection issue for a while but it's still not 100%.
That got me to thinking that maybe I should roll back Google maps to the original version, this worked and I was able to use it without it crashing, of course it's a very old version. The problem doing this is that this version of maps doesn't store maps and so used a lot of data.
I struggled along with this for a few months but ended upgrading Google maps and we're back to the poor start and multiple crashes when Google Maps starts
What versions of Google Maps should work?

Re: Multiple issues - slow start up, radio reception patchy, music playback just stops, and more
Well after 6 more months of frustration and unpredictable behaviour I have made some progress.
The WiFi connection issue is almost stable - I changed phone and it was worse, then suddenly and without updating anything it got better! It's still not 100% but I can at least make a journey without it just failing.
Google maps took an age figure out, customer service sent me an link to down load a new mapping app but I just couldn't figure it out and gave up. Instead I installed Waze which seems to work much better. This go me to thinking if it wasn't the underlying operating system that is at fault because Waze and Google Play throw up the same error messages I was gettibgbwith Google Maps.
So, the question is, how do i debug these errors and is there an update for the base software that I can try?

I'm guessing I'm on my own with this now?
This has turnedninto a very frustrating exercise in car audio - the u it promised so much and delivers so little. I do wish I'd sent it back at the beginning and not spent so much time on trying to fix it.
I'm now left with an unreliable unit. My only solution seems to be to trip it out and put something more reliable in.

Re: Multiple issues - slow start up, radio reception patchy, music playback just stops, and more
Customer service were hopeless - they told me to update the firmware but then when I asked them to send me the updated firmware they said "there is no updated firmware"
So, I went back to Amazon with full details of the whole saga, they said 'send it back to us',I'm guessing that's because I'm a Prime customer (or just lucky).
I took the unit out of the car, sent it back and have now had a full refund - I wish I'd done this sooner!
I'm going to buy a Pioneer unit from a local independant store who can fit it and seem to care about their customers.
