Punkin PX5 AE0273-02A WIFI wont turn on

i installed my pumpkin PX5 AE0273-02A brand new out the box from amazon into my vehicle and there is a issue with it i can not turn the WIFI on i tap it and it turns back off i have tried a few fings

ive done a reset on it using a pin to push the button on the front and i had no luck there it done the same issue where the wifi turn on then off
the wifi reciver is in the back nice

i can not find any firmware updates online for my device either if some one could help me out im hoping its a firmware issue

if some one could help me i would really appreciate it

Hi,
you can first check the USB slot works normally or not. If also not,you need to contact the pumpkin customer service for help .If the usb slot works normally,then you fix it by purchasing an wifi dongle .

More query,you can contact the pumpkin customer service or write to support@autopumpkin.com .You'd betther tell them your order nubmer or ebay buyer id so that they can confirm your unit model .

The WiFi on my new SKU: AE0273B does not work well.

You recommend buying a WiFi dongle (TL-WN823N) if the built in WiFi module is defective. I have bought a TL-WN823N dongle but the AE0273B does not detect it when it is plugged into the USB port.

Your video explaining how to use the dongle is 2 years old and I expect the software has changed.
Please tell me how I can get the TL-WN823N to work.

Hi Robjones，normally only when the built in WiFi module is broken and the USB slot works normally, can the car stereo recognize the USB wifi dongle.About your issue, the hardware of the build-in wifi module should be ok.
Here is an software update for this unit AE0273 .This firmware aims to solve the issue that the wifi keep searching but no find any one .

Please download the files to the root content of one sd card and insert it into the GPS slot.Then enter settings - system - system udpate .

Thank you for your reply and the link to the firmware update. The AE0273B can receive data from my home WiFi but only when the repeater is about 5 meters from the car. You say that the update will improve the searching problem but will that improve the sensitivity of the built-in WiFi?
Following your recommendation I have purchased a TL-WN823N WiFi dongle and would like to see whether it has a greater range. Is there any way of using it with the AE0273B or shall I return it to Amazon?

According to what you said, the TL-WN823N wifi dongle doesn't works with our unit currently. Maybe you can return it .

Thank you for your reply and new link. I will try to return the TL-WN823N wifi dongle. I am a little afraid of trying a firmware update as most other things are working now.
Is there any kind of WiFi dongle which will work with the AE0273B?
To help other AE0273B users it might be an idea for you to correct your reference (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=777) in which you recommend using the TL-WN823N WiFi dongle.

Hi,Usually those 3G/4G wifi dongle which need to be insert a sim card and send wifi signal can work with our unit.
2.In my reference topic, i have said that only when you unable to switch the wifi switch on ,then you need to get one wifi dongle .Or is there some misunderstood between us ? Sorry for my bad English .

Your English is really quite good. Yes I think something has been misunderstood.

The TP-Link WN823N WiFi dongle which you recommended is only for WiFi and has nothing to do with 3G/4G connectivity.
In your video a different dongle (made by LB-Link) is shown. To start with, the WiFi is off then the dongle is connected to the USB-Port and the WiFi is switched on. The LED in the dongle starts to blink and the screen shows many WiFi sources. After selecting one the password can be entered and the WiFi link can be used.

My questions are:
1. What kind if dongle is shown in the video?
2. Does the AE0273B have a driver for this dongle or for the TP-Link dongle?

1.it is a wifi dongle that can receive wifi signal instead of the build-in wifi module while the build-in wifi module is broken .
2.yes,it does .
