Many apps have a night mode with changes the color scheme for night operation. Waze and Maps do this for instance. ON a phone it is done using ambient light I believe. In the Android stereo head unit I presume this would be done using the dash illumination input but that does not appear to work on my unit. I have the illumination wire from the car connected to the head unit (orange lead) and I verified it gets power when the dash lights are turned ON.
If this unit does not support this, I am an Android app developer. If I could get information on the Pumkin APIs to Android to know when the illumination input indicates the dash lights are ON I would make an app to handle this. Where can I get information on your APIs?

It does not appear to be responding to the illumination input. That was already set as shown above. I also tried setting the illumination button to headlight input and they did nothing. They work fine when set to key ON. What does it normally do when, just adjust the brightness down a bit?
Re: AE0273B-08A Night Mode
Hi, i will test it again.
Yes, when the unit recognize the headlight on or time to night, the screen will become dark a little. For more adjustment , you can enter settings - display page .
