DVD issue

Hello. I have a pumpkin unit I bought on amazon. When playing a dvd today the screen on the unit is black and not showing dvd but the rear entertainment screens play the film. All other functions on the unit seem to work correctly. I have checked in settings and allow video whilst driving is still set to on? It used to show the film on the screen until I went into another app but now just a blank black screen, the menu buttons are at the bottom of the screen still. Please let me know what I need to do. Hi,
you can try to turn off the option "allow watching video when driving " and turn it on again or directly turn it off and directly test the DVD function again .Normally when the option "allow watching video when driving "is off ,you will see the following image when you play DVD .

Is it same as yours ?
More query ,could you show me an picture about your issue.And is there any sound from the car stereo when you get an blank black screen ?

Yes I get sound but no picture just a blank black screen. There is no writing on the screen totally blank. I will upload a video tomorrow. I do not see the video disabled message. I will try what you suggest and let you know. Thank you

if the suggestion doesn't help, you can try to click the reset button to fully reboot the unit .
In addition ,did the disc which suffer this black screen issue played normally before ? I mean, some disc ,for example,Blu-ray disc can not be played on our unit . So maybe you can try other discs .

Hello. This disc has played properly before and the turning on and off video playback whilst driving didn’t work. I will include photos please let me know if you have any ideas before I do a reset. I don’t want to lose all the apps and data if I don’t have to. Thanks.

Hi,
you can try to click the "reset" button first, it won't clear up your data and delete the app you downloaded .
If this doesn't help, you can flash the following firmware .https://mega.nz/#!6XhWXQoR!W0GwWH4tpNqM ... jc2zbP8aQc
Please download the files to the root content of one sd card or USB stick ,then insert the card into the GPS slot if you choose this way, next enter settings - system - system update .
