Subwoofer wiring and sugestions please

Hi all , looking to get the new Pumpkin headunit for a VW MK5 , the one with CD/DVD( the £275) and I need to order a subwoofer and the wiring for it. I can see that unit has only a single RCA for subwoofer auto so I assume it is for a passive subwoofer. Any recommendation, what did other forum members used? Or should I go with active subwoofer? Don't need something big. The built in amplifier 4× 50w it's good enough for the stock speakers? The only thing I need is to take out the bass from the main speakers.

Hi, the unit only outputs a sub signal to the subwoofer. So you need an active subwoofer.

Thanks for the reply. Now looking to find out how to connect the subwoofer because I have 2 RCA coming from the sub and not sure where to connect it( I remember I've seen the answer on a different thread but can't find it now)
